What Is It?

It came in like a paroxysmal gale,

Coming at me in murderous bouts

And latched itself onto me.

It often oozes out of me

like molten wax, down my eyelids;

Or dances on my chest,

Casting shadows of it’s maneuvers on my dark walls.

It pursues me in my dreams, into obscure paths trodden by none,

I wake up with a start, only to find it

Transforming underneath my bed sheet,

Waiting to consume my existence.

Edge of Sanity

A slow descent into madness
Caused in part
By the death of a dream
And in part
By the crack that I breathed in.
Blue sawdust in my veins
Ecstasy on my lips
And the final countdown.
Three
I am screaming like a banshee
Two
I am bleeding through your golden heart tattoo
One
I am coming undone.
